Senior citizens group receive P1.7-M project

THE Zamboanga City Government has turned over the newly-completed P1.7-million Senior Citizen Center in the village of Sinubong on Thursday, May 2.

Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar, who led the turnover of the project, urged the beneficiaries to maximize utilization of the building adding that the City Government has prepared a functional center that will serve as “a place to meet, to discuss and to learn.”

The project was constructed by the Benchmark Engineering and Construction at a total cost of P1,710,223.72. The site covers a total area of 58.40 square meters.

The project was turned over to Sinubong Chairman Rolando Soler and consequently to Senior Citizen Association President Mariano Torcuator, Jr.

The project is in line with the city’s infrastructure program and continuous support to the elderly sector.

The village of Sinubong is located 26 kilometers west of the city.
