QC distributes graduation subsidy

MANILA, April 6 (PNA) -- Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista on Thursday led the distribution of graduation subsidies and incentives to public schools as well as deserving students in the city to defray graduation expenses in response to the “No Collection Policy” enforced by the Department of Education.
A total of PHP1.2 million was provided by the QC government to augment the printing of diplomas and certificates, stage decorations, chairs and sound system rental, and minor venue repairs.
The PHP2.1 million will go to honor students as their incentives and encourage them to exert additional effort to maintain their grades.
As per Commission on Audit Circular No. 2012-004, school principals are required to submit subsidy liquidation requirements within 20 days from the accomplishment of the purpose.
Over 70 principals, school officials, and Schools Division Office heads attended the distribution and discussion of guidelines at the QC Hall.
In response to the “No Collection Policy” enforced by Department of Education, QC government distributed a total of PHP1,870,000 for the graduation subsidy and incentives of honor pupils in public schools.
This year, there are 40, 473 graduating students in Grade 6 and 33,578 students in Grade 10 will move up to senior high school.
