LINGAYEN, Pangasinan, Nov. 10 (PNA) -- The 27th National Statistics Month (NSM) celebration in Pangasinan ended today (Nov. 10) on a high note when the provincial government led by Governor Amado "Pogi" I. Espino, III feted Local Government Units (LGUs) for their notable performance in maximizing statistics in local governance.

During the NSM provincial culminating activity held at the Sison Auditorium Thursday, Gov. Espino bared that the province of Pangasinan has maintained a solid performance not only in the annual NSM Month celebration, but also in taking advantage of the influence of statistics in the implementation of various development thrusts of the provincial government.

Buoyed up by the province’s 2nd regional hall of fame award as Best NSM Province Implementer, which is set to be officially awarded to the province next year, Governor Espino urged Pangasinenses not to rest on its laurels and carry on elevating the performance of the province in various fields.

“It has always been the agenda of this provincial administration to make Pangasinan a premiere province,” said Governor Espino, as he expressed elation over the recent awarding of the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG), the second SGLG award received by the province.

Most city and municipal LGUs in the province also received their SGLG awards, which is a manifestation of their consistent performance in the SGLG parameters which include: (core components) financial administration, social protection and disaster preparedness; and (essential components) business friendliness and competitiveness, peace and order and environmental management.
