MANILA – Blackbird, located at the Nielson Tower in Makati, has been dubbed as one of the best restaurants in the world.

London-based publication and tastemaker Monocle has included Blackbird in its list of 50 best restaurants, ranking 49th.

On Instagram, Blackbird chef Kerwin Go shared photos of the letter, award, and magazine they received from Monocle.

“Five years ago today, we were getting ready to open Blackbird. It was going to be the biggest project we have done, and personally I was nervous as I was given a bigger role with this concept,” he said.

“Fast forward to today, we got listed in Monocle’s 50 best restaurants in the world,” Go continued. “I would like to thank every single chef, waiter, runner, bartender, and manager who make it happen every single day. Congratulations to us.”

Monocle has yet to release its full list of 50 best restaurants online, although it has revealed which establishments reached the Top 5.

Leading the pack is 1477 Reichhalter in Lana, Italy; followed by The River Café in London; Villa D’Este in Como; Bauernschänke in Zurich; and Appia in Bangkok.
