NWPC opens 2017 Productivity Olympics to MSMEs

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA) -- The National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) opens its biennial national competition for best productivity improvement programs of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) nationwide dubbed ‘2017 Productivity Olympics.’
According to NWPC, an attached agency of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the goal of the Olympics is to intensify national awareness and commitment to quality and productivity.
Also, to encourage MSMEs to adopt productivity improvement programs/practices, and showcase best productivity improvement programs.
This is in coordination with its 17 Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards (RTWPBs).
To join, MSMEs must be duly registered with the appropriate government agency such as the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), among others.
They must also have a productivity improvement program existing for at least two years preferably under the NWPC’s productivity program, compliant with labor standards and have never been a recipient of productivity Olympics award at the national level.
These MSMEs must be in the Agribusiness, Service and Industry sector.
Awards for this competition include trophy, cash award, use of productivity Olympics logo for publicity, priority endorsement to other training programs and will qualify for the DOLE-ICP award.
