Mini-truck bumps boy in Cabaluay

A boy was rushed to a hospital after he was accidentally bumped by a 6-wheeler Bongo Type mini-truck along MCLL Highway, Barangay Cabaluay, this city, last week Thursday morning.

Police identified the victim as Merham Silbin y Isnani, a resident of Sitio Islamia, Cabaluay. He sustained multiple injuries on the head and body.

He was brought to Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC) for medical attention by passersby in the area.

Report showed that the mini-truck driver identified as Jessie Gutoeres y Oclarit, a native of Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur immediately surrendered to Police Station 3 after the incident.

Initial investigation conducted by authorities showed that the color green Bongo Type truck bearing license plate number AAT-8790, driven by Gutoeres was travelling along MCLL Highway heading towards Barangay Sangali, this city.

Probers said upon reaching barangay Cabaluay, the victim suddenly crossed the road without sensing the approaching mini-truck that resulted to the incident.

The case is still under investigation while appropriate case is being readied against the driver in court. (Eugene A. Lasprilla)
