CEBU CITY, June 1 (PNA) -- Japanese Bordery, a two-day lantern festival, is set to be held in Cebu on Aug. 12 and 13 at the Sugbo Grounds in the South Road Properties (SRP), Cebu City.
It will start at 4 p.m. and end at 10 p.m.
Aside from lanterns, the event will also feature a fireworks display.
The event will be held to mark the 60-year friendship between the Philippines and Japan.
Cebu Governor Hilario Davide III and Vice Governor Agnes Magpale met with Japanese Association Cebu Inc. President Kinue Sakurai Tuesday to discuss the details of the lantern festival.
Sakurai said they are planning to squeeze in as many events as possible in the event to promote Japanese culture and products.
He said they’re inviting Cebuanos to join the festival.
“We feel like we’re a family, a part of the society,” Sakurai said.
