A CITY-WIDE children's congress will be conducted as one highlights of the month long celebration of the National Children's Month (NCM), an official said.

NCN is celebrated in the month of November. The three-day children's congress is slated on November 27-29. Davao City City Social Services and Development Office head Maria Luisa T. Bermudo on Monday said the congress will gather representatives from different barangays of the city.

She said selection of participants from each barangay will be done during the barangay children's congress which will be conducted on November 19-20.

Bermudo said they are set to gather statements from participants and consolidate it to come up with one single statement which will be the focus of the city-wide children's congress.

"Ipresent nila by barangay then by district to come up with a common statement," Bermudo said.

Bermudo hopes that through the event, the children's voice on various issues affecting them will be heard.

She said this is actually the first time for the city to celebrate the NCM in the month of November as it was previously celebrated in October.

"Through RA 10661, the celebration is moved to November," Bermudo added.

Also part of the activity will be the review of the previous resolutions which were adopted in last year's staging of the congress.
