Dagupan chosen as Most Child-Friendly City in Region 1 anew

DAGUPAN CITY, June 27 -- The city of Dagupan will receive its third consecutive award as most Child-Friendly City in Region 1 for this year.
Mayor Belen Fernandez and other city officials will receive the award in a ceremony in Baguio City on Wednesday, its third award since 2014.
Fernandez thanked the regional evaluation committee for such award composed of various government agencies led by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for choosing Dagupan anew as recipient of the coveted award.
Dagupan received the award in 2014 and 2015 and will again eye the Presidential Award as Most Child-Friendly City in the Philippines.
Among Dagupan's most significant projects for children of the city include "Oplan Paliligo" that already gave free bath to children of indigent families, benefiting to date more than 6,000 children.
Dagupan is the only city in the Philippines holding yearly a Children's Summit where issues pertaining to the welfare, health education and well-being of children are being discussed.
Mayor Fernandez said the children are the top proprieties in her city administration that started in 2013.
