DAGUPAN CITY (PIA) – After the demolition of at least 255 sheds at the Tondaligan Park in Barangay Bonuan Gueset, the city government of Dagupan now eyes to further improve and develop the park to increase the number of tourists visiting the Bonuan Tondaligan beach.

Mayor Belen Fernandez said the city government is now preparing to further develop the Tondaligan Park with a plan to construct a children’s playground, baywalk with bicycle and joggers’ lane, and comfort rooms and washrooms for beachgoers.

“Meron na po tayong plano and we are only finalizing it. Anytime ay makapagsimula na po tayo dahil meron na po tayong pondo,” said Fernandez during the live interview and press conference held at the studio of Kabaleyan Channel in Dagupan City.

Fernandez said with the available fund, the construction of the children’s playground and the temporary rehabilitation of comfort rooms will start soon.

Likewise, Fernandez confirmed that the establishment of sheds in the beach area will now be prohibited but the local government will evaluate shed operators who will qualify to stay in the park and operate wide beach umbrellas, movable chairs and tables that can be rented by beachgoers for a fixed amount.
