DTI-Iloilo’s Diskwento Sale kicks off

ILOILO CITY, June 1 (PNA) -- Discounts up to 20 percent on school supplies are available at the three-day Diskwento Sale facilitated by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) that kicked off here today.
Francis Chung, President of the Philippine Retailers Association (PRA) Iloilo Chapter, said that buyers could get five to 10 percent discount on schools supplies like notebooks, pens and paper, among others and 10 to 20 percent on bags, school uniforms and many others.
Five retailers namely Iloilo Society Commercial, City Square Trader, Jeco Distributor Co. Inc., MS Panay Distribution Inc. and D’Twin Stars Industrial Sales and Services participated in this year’s Diskwento Sale.
This year, eight local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) namely Al Di Foods, Brendan’s Everything Special Pasalubong, San Juan MPC, Nating’s Homemade Peanut Butter, Pera sa Basura Handicraft, Sunburst Balai Tablea, Shine Native Products Marketing and Rosary Herbal Products also participated in the caravan sale.
DTI-Iloilo provincial director Diosdado P. Cadena Jr. is urging residents to take advantage of the event as it is an opportunity where parents can save money with the big discounts made available by the participating outlets.
The DTI’s Diskwento Sale will run until June 3.
