DOLE gears up for Labor Day activities

PAGADIAN CITY, April 26 (PIA) – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will celebrate the 2016 Labor Day (Araw ng Manggagawa) on May 1 at Saint Columban College gymnasium. The 114th Labor Day celebration carries the theme “Kinabukasan Sigurado sa Disenteng Trabaho” which recognizes the efforts and contributions of our workers to societal development.

Supervising Labor Employment Officer Camilo A. Encila, Jr. said the annual activity, in partnership with the Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (TIPC)- Pagadian chapter is both a celebration and promotion for the respect of the rights and benefits that should be afforded to our human resources in the workplace.

The celebration will be infused with activities that that will help promote decent job agenda, according to Encila.

At exactly 7am, a motorcade will start at the DOLE office and to culminate at Saint Columban College gymnasium for the program and games.

After the brief program, a workers’ “showtime” will follow where they will showcase talents in singing and dancing. Team fun games, raffle draw, Diskwento Fair, and other activities will also be conducted.
