Clean-up drive set in Zamboanga City on Nov. 25

THE Zamboanga City Environment and Natural Resources Office (Cenro) will be conducting a city-wide clean-up drive on November 25.

“We are going to have a city-wide clean up, not only in the mainland, but including the coastal areas, the rivers, canals, and including opening up all the drainage to clean up,” Cenro Public Service Officer Rodrigo Pagotaisidro announced.

Pagotaisidro said it is part of the activities leading up to the full implementation of the solid waste management system, or Ordinance 2016-176, on November 27, and is also in preparation for the upcoming yuletide season in the city.

Prior to the clean-up drive, Pagotaisidro said they will also have a city-wide motorcade on November 24 to drum up support and awareness of the solid waste management implementation, which will involve all villages that have undergone training and orientation on the salient provisions of the ordinance.

He said the motorcade will also mark the final day of the information drive for the solid waste management ordinance.
