THE Davao City Government is once again gearing up for the lighting of colorful lights and other adornments on San Pedro street, particularly in front of the City Hall, as the city prepares for the Yuletide celebration.

The lighting up is slated on December 4 when the city kicks off this year's staging of Pasko Fiesta.

City Administrator Melchor Quitain said the city has been celebrating Christmas by lighting the trees and putting decorations at the City Hall, Rizal Park and Osmeña Park.

He said they have encouraged businessmen on San Pedro Street, Magallanes, and City Hall Drive to lighten up their establishments with Christmas lights and decors for the city to look brighter and bubbly.

"We had a meeting with the businessmen in these areas, and we requested them to cooperate with us. We’re not forcing them. We hope they will cooperate. Everybody will put on the lights on December 4," Quitain said.

Quitain said they are now finalizing their preparation for the upcoming Pasko Fiesta celebration.
