Cebu provincial development body okays PHP18.44-B projects for 2017

CEBU CITY, March 4 (PNA) -- The Cebu Provincial Development Council (PDC) has approved PHP18.44 billion worth of infrastructure projects for 2017.

The PDC endorsed the projects to the Regional Development Council (RDC) 7 so these will be included in the 2017 budget of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

The programs, activities and projects (PAPs) are distributed to district engineering offices (DEOs) in the province.

Among the DEOs, DEO 6 had the biggest budgetary need at PHP5.9 billion, followed by DEO 4 with PHP3.72 billion.

DEO 1 has a proposed budget of PHP1.286 billion; DEO 2, PHP2.445 billion; DEO 3, PHP3.456 billion; and DEO 5, PHP1.616-billion.

Cebu Governor Hilario Davide III is the presiding officer of the PDC.

Davide said the specific projects for each local government unit (LGU) in the province should be discussed by the district engineer.

Among the members of the PDC are the chief executives of LGUs and members of the provincial board.
