Capitol marks Day Care Workers’ Week

NEARLY 300 day care and social workers from various municipalities and cities were taught how to implement and design creative and developmentally appropriate activities for children during the Provincial Early Childhood Care Development conference at the Provincial Capitol Social Hall last week.

The conference with the theme, “Sa Child Development Worker, Bata and Bida!,” highlighted the First Provincial Day Care Workers’ Week and the celebration of the Day Care Workers’ Month last June.

“Education and learning should not stop. We should always embrace new technology, new teachings to improve our craft,” Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office Head Marivic Garces told participants.

Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale, in a speech, said that the conference was a way of upgrading the skills of day care workers.

The event was organized by the Province of Cebu, Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. and the Cebu Association of Daycare Workers.

Rafi also launched the day care workers’ data management system after the lecture and workshops.
