Cagayan de Oro okays payment for second tranche of salary hike

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, May 12 – The city council has approved the payment of the second tranche of the salary increase for about 2,000 city hall employees, Vice Mayor Joaquin Uy said Friday.
Uy said the city council earmarked PHP 50.6 million for the implementation of the Salary Standardization Law in the 2017 Annual budget.
He said that the budget was included in Supplemental Budget No. 2 in the 2017 General Fund and Special Accounts-Local Economic Enterprises.
The salary hike was pursuant to Executive Order No. 201 (Salary Standardization Law of 2015) and the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Local Budget Circular No. 113 dated January 5, 2017.
Uy said that the salary hike approved during the regular session last Monday would be retroactive January 2017.
