CDC sets seminar on social benefits

CLARK FREEPORT -- The Clark Development Corporation (CDC) will hold a seminar today, Friday, on Social Welfare Benefits Updates at the Vegas Function Hall of Widus Hotel and Casino here.
Participating the event are the Social Security System (SSS), Philippine Health Insurance Inc. (Phil Health), Home Mutual Development Fund (HMDF or Pag-IBIG), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Bureau of Immigration (BI) which are vital in the operations of companies in Clark.
CDC Vice President for Business Development and Business Enhancement Group Evageline G. Tejada said locators, especially the new companies, were invited to attend the seminar on social welfare, labor standards/compliances and programs, immigration laws/rules and regulations on visas and permits.
Normita Cruz, branch head of SSS in Angeles City, will be talking about the social benefits of workers.
Cruz said companies who failed to remit contributions on time will be penalized 10 percent of the monthly contribution of the members per month.
BI was included to help companies with foreign employees on how to secure work visas and permits, while DOLE will explain the various rights of the workers under the Labor Laws of the Philippines.
PhilHealth for its part will provide updates on the health benefits of the members.
