Another firm to distribute water in Iloilo City

ILOILO CITY, june 15 (PNA) -- Another water firm showed interest to join the water distribution business in this city.

Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog here has endorsed to the city council a letter from the Manila Water Philippine Ventures Inc. signed by business development manager Joyce Tabutol asking for a draft Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the conduct of a feasibility study on water distribution in the city of Iloilo.

City councilor RLeone Gerochi, chairman of the SP committee on energy and public utilities, said his committee recommended a resolution granting authority for the city mayor to sign the MOU for the sole purpose of conducting the study by the Manila Water Philippine Ventures Inc. and Agsirab Water Resource Corp. designed for a water distribution venture in the city.

The second water firm intention follows closely the earlier investment venture of South Balibago Water Resources Corp. which signified water distribution in 34 housing subdivisions and three barangays in Jaro district not served by the Metro Iloilo Water District (MIWD).
