4 Pangasinan LGUs avail of e-AlkaSSSya project

DAGUPAN CITY, June 24 (PNA) — The local government units of Dagupan City, Sta. Barbara, Bayambang and Mangaldan have availed of the e- AlkanSSSya project of the Social Security System (SSS) for contractual employees of the municipal and city government.

Marilyn Dioquino, accounts monitoring section of SSS Dagupan branch, said during the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkasters sa Pilipinas (KBP) forum Thursday, that they are still coordinating with the other LGUs to enroll their job order or contractual employees with SSS.

“They (LGU) are having a hard time in accounting for the contribution and some employees would not want anymore deductions from their salaries ," Dioquino said.

In the e- AlkanSSSya project, contractual government employees who are not members of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) will be registered with SSS.

Under the scheme, their contributions will be shared by both the LGU and the employee to be deducted from their salaries.

However, the provincial government contractual employees’ contributions were shouldered by the provincial government solely.

“Some LGUs have a lot of job order employees who have meager salaries and the LGU could not also shoulder the full contribution, so that is where the problem lies," Dioquino said.

Howevet, SSS still encourages government contractual employees to avail of e- AlkanSSSya project.
