2 top drug personalities arrested in Pangasinan

AGNO, Pangasinan, Nov. 6 (PNA) -- Two top drug personalities were arrested while another managed to escape when a composite team of lawmen simultaneously served six warrants in three different houses in Agno on Friday, the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO) reported.

Arrested in these operations conducted at about 5:30 a.m. Friday were Joel Nery, a high-value target pusher of Barangay Boboy in Agno town from whose house lawmen seized one plastic sachet of suspected shabu; and Mario Nuevo Espana, a drug pusher on the watchlist from Barangay Poblacion East, Agno, from whom lawmen also seized five plastic sachets of suspected shabu, one lighter, five aluminum foils, two straws, one tooter, one syringe needle and one eye glasses.

Meanwhile, 41 empty shells for caliber 38 revolver and one empty shell for 5.56mm, including four sachets of suspected shabu were seized from the house of Hannibal Medrano Sr., also a pusher on the watchlist and a native of Bangan-Oda, Agno town, who was not around when lawmen served the search warrant in his house.

He is now the subject of police manhunt.

The searches were conducted by elements of the Police Provincial Office led by Supt. Jeff Fanged and Supt. Jackie Candelario, deputy police provincial director for operations, composed of members of the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (PAIDSOTG), Provincial Investigation Branch, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit, Philippine Army and Agno Police.

The searches were conducted in orderly manner, watched by officials of barangays and of the Dspartment of Justice.
