2 Cebu grads top doctor exam

CEBU, Philippines — Two Cebu graduates have made it to the top 10 of the licensure examination for physicians given by the Board of Medicine in March this year.

Jay Orehuela of Southwestern University-Matias H. Aznar Memorial College of Medicine finished second place with a rating of 88 percent while Ommar Pacalundo of Cebu Doctors’ University-College of Medicine landed eighth with 85.58 percent.

The first placer this year was Jerald Pelayo from the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center who scored 88.17 percent.

According to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), 1,067 out of 1,601 takers passed the exam given in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cebu, and Zamboanga.
