HEALTH authorities are conducting an in-depth probe to determine the cause that downed about 20 students while gathered in a Church in Zamboanga del Norte, the police said Saturday, July 8.

The incident occurred around 9 a.m. Friday at the Colegio de San Francisco Javier in the village of East Poblacion, Rizal, Zamboanga del Norte.

The Zamboanga del Norte Police Provincial Office reported the students were attending a mass when one of them complained of “headache and difficulty in breathing” and eventually the student collapsed.

Another student also “experienced the same feeling” and collapsed.

The police said that about 20 students have collapsed one after the other. They were rushed to the hospitals for medication.

An in-depth investigation is ongoing since the Rural Health Unit of Rizal town cannot determine the cause of dizziness that downed the students.
