LUCENA CITY—One person was killed and four others were injured in a road accident along the zigzag diversion road in Atimonan, Quezon province, on Friday.
LUCENA CITY, Quezon- The Pahiyas and Agawan festivals of the towns of Lucban and Sariaya are now featured in the Bureau of Domestic Trade – Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Calabarzon festival fair held at Trade and Industry Building, Gil Puyat Ave., Makati City.

Quezon police chief Senior Supt. Valeriano de Leon said a Bicol-bound cargo truck was descending the diversion road in Barangay Sta. Catalina at around 2:20 a.m. when it lost its brakes and bumped three passenger buses and an Izusu Elf truck before coming to a halt.
According to Alberto Bay, Jr., Quezon provincial tourism officer, the festival fair will run from May 2 to 30 where the unique custom of drinking lambanog (coconut wine) will be presented.

Henry Buzar, coordinator of the Quezon Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, said the driver of the Elf truck was dead on arrival in a hospital in the city, where the three truck helpers were also rushed.
“The province is known for ‘lambanog’, and many women in the towns of Sampaloc, Mauban, and Tayabas are also known as good lambanog drinkers,” Bay said

Bay added that the festival fair will help to boost the tourism industry in the province.

Also featured in the fair are the local produce like langgonisa, "pancit habhab," "budin," "apas," and some One-Town, One-Product (OTOP) products in the province.

On May 15, the Pahiyas festival of Lucban, Agawan festival in Sariaya; Baluarte’t Arangya festival in Gumaca, and Mayohan festival in Tayabas are simultaneously celebrated in the province.
