LUCENA CITY, Quezon- The National Statistics Office (NSO), Quezon provincial office through their field staff and selected trained interviewers will conduct an updating of the list of establishments in Quezon province starting May 2 until June 2012. | |||
According to NSO, Quezon provincial office headed by Irene Pucyutan, provincial statistics officer, updating of list of establishments in the province involves the capture and listing of the characteristics of “new” establishments, updating of the status and characteristics of old establishments or those that have already been included in the data base, delisting of closed establishments and identification of out of scope units. | |||
Pucyutan also said the updated data base of establishments will provide the NSO a reliable sampling frame for its business and industry censuses and surveys. The data that will be collected also serves as a guide to government planning, policy making and monitoring, basis of marketing plants, opportunities and prospects and input to evaluation, market research and comparative studies. Thus, the agency looks forward to the full cooperation and support for the undertaking not only from national and local government agencies but also from the private sector , particularly the business associations. | |||
Relative to this, the NSO, Quezon provincial office will hold a the training for 27 interviewers or hired statistical researchers as part of the preparation for the comprehensive door to door canvassing of establishments in 40 municipalities and two cities in Quezon province. | |||
NSO upon request of government and public users only provides summary of information from the list of establishments such as the counts of establishments with disaggregation by industry, by employment size, by region and by selected area up to the barangay level. | |||
