LUCENA CITY, Quezon- The city government through the city veterinary office (CVO) joined hand in hand with Univet animal health and nutrition company (UNAHCO) in resuming the program for small and medium scale enterprises (SMSEs) in the countryside.
LUCENA CITY, Quezon- The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) and barangay officials have set up satellite registration offices in Lucena.

Target of the project are cooperative members like the Ibabang Talim Multi-Purpose Cooperative, the recipient of the small scale pig project of Mayor Barbara Ruby Talaga for swine and animal growers. Mayor Talaga’s project aims to create small business and livelihood project for barangay residents.
According to COMELEC Lucena City office headed by Atty. Joan Binoya Atienza, the creation of the 10 satellite registration offices aims to update the status of qualified voters residing in a particular barangay.

Both the CVO and UNAHCO assured cooperative members that they would be assisted trough training on swine production and provision of information on animal health.
Updating of records determines if the voter is active or inactive or has been transferred from one barangay or municipality to another.

COMELEC Lucena election assistant officer Julian Rodelas said they have updated voters’ records in Barangay Salinas on March 31 and Barangay Ilayang Talim on March 24.

Rodelas said the COMELEC is set to update voters’ records in Barangay Barra on April 14, Barangay Ransohan on April 28, Barangay Ilayang Dupay on May 5, Barangay Gulang-Gulang on May 12, Barangay Mayao Castillo on May 19, Barangay Talao-Talao on May 26, Barangay Silangang Mayao on June 2 and Barangay Ibabang Talim on June 9.

The city COMELEC office also said an individual who is now 18 years old can also register in his or her respective barangay in Lucena City on the scheduled date of registration.

Meanwhile, registered voters who were not able vote for last two consecutive elections will be deleted in the master list of registered voters if they will not report or reactivate their names during the satellite registration. Female registered voters who have been married are also encouraged to report to the satellite registration offices to update or change their marital status. Correction of names of registered voters shall also be done in updating records of registered voters.

Setting of satellite registration office is pursuant to COMELEC national office directive.
