-LUCENA CITY, Quezon- There is no denying the large number of rabies cases in the city of Lucena and government is doing something about it. DILG director Teodorica Vizcarra urged the city government to create an  anti-rabies control coordinating council that will supervise and coordinate the implementation of anti-rabies program in this city.

-Councilor Amer Lacerna encouraged the city veterinary office to strengthen the information campaign on the prevention of dog bites and allocate additional doses of free vaccines. He said only one dose of anti-rabies vaccine is given free while the succeeding vaccines are charged.
-According to the city health office, the supply of anti-rabies vaccines is not sufficient to the number of persons that are bitten by dogs, that’s why they just give free  dose of vaccine.
-In response to this, the city health office has focused on the prevention of dog bites by conducting regular assembly in the barangays.
