CAUAYAN CITY, Isabela– The Isabela Green Ladies Organization (IGLO), this province’s primary women organization, will lead the conduct of various activities for the monthlong celebration of women’s month in Isabela to show that women are contributors to development in the country. | |||
Women Representative to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Vilinda Bernardo who is also the adviser of IGLO said that the organization is the primary organization that unites women in terms of contributing their time, skills and resources towards the development of the province. | |||
She said the theme for this year’s celebration evolves on the role of women in weathering climate change effects. | |||
Bernardo expressed her full support to the undertakings of the organization as she is representing them in the province’s legislative body and assured her continuing assistance to promote the well-being of women in the province. | |||
There will be a mass at Francisco L. Dy coliseum in Cauayan City before the program will formally start. | |||
A simultaneous free medical and dental mission at the province-run hospitals in the four district of Isabela and at the provincial hospital will also be conducted on the same day. | |||
In the afternoon, a women’s forum will also be conducted where several issues related to women’s rights and concern will be tackled by invited resource speakers like former Las Pinas congresswoman Cynthia Villar and Commission on Higher Education commissioner Nona Ricafort. | |||
The theme for this year’s celebration is “Women weathering climate change: Governance and accountability, everyone’s responsibility." | |||
