ILAGAN, Isabela- The local chief executive of this province has assured the public that the protection of the environment inside the Northern Sierra Madre Natural Park will be protected when the Ilagan-Divilacan road projects is realized. | |||
Governor Faustino G. Dy III made this assurance during the second consultative meeting held at Santa Victoria Park in this town March 8. | |||
“Kung gagawin natin ang Divilacan-Ilagan road, titiyakin natin na an gating kagubatan ay atin pong pangangalagaan” (If the Ilagan-Divilacan road project will be constructed, I assure you that the forests and the environment will be protected),” Dy said. | |||
He said he will be proposing to local government units the enactment of ordinances just to ensure the protection of the environment in the province which he considered as the remaining resources for the next generation. | |||
Dy aired his desire to open the Ilagan-Divilacan road in order that the residents who are deprived of basic social services from the coastal town will also be given with the resources and aids from the provincial government and other national government agencies, citing the situation in Subic and other places in the country where these places became economically rich. | |||
The Divilacan-Ilagan road was also seen by the provincial government as a gateway to the coastal areas, plus the benefit it can give the residents in transporting their goods and products to the mainland Isabela. | |||
It can be recalled that Governor Dy has said during his inauguration that he will be prioritizing the interconnectivity of the four coastal towns to the mainland Isabela in order for residents not be deprived of the basic social services intended for them. | |||
