CAUAYAN CITY, Isabela– The Cauayan City agriculture office, in coordination with the Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice) – Isabela, is set to conduct a computer literacy training to several farmers in the city and in nearby towns starting this week to increase their knowledge on rice and corn production through surfing about the latest technologies to increase their yield. | |||
Mary Jane Yadao, city agricultural technician, said some farmers from Cabatuan, Reina Mercedes and Cauayan City are scheduled to participate in the said training to gain initial knowledge in computer operation and internet research as a venue to improve rice and corn production. | |||
PhilRice- Isabela and the city agriculture office will assist during the training by way of providing the venue and other requirements. | |||
Yadao said that the provision of knowledge on modern technology to farmers are necessary to contribute to the country’s goal of attaining food self-sufficiency program. | |||
