ILAGAN, Isabela- The Sangguniang Kabataan provincial federation headed by Kristyna Louise Dy will conduct counseling sessions to students of higher education institutions (HEIs) in the province to avert early pregnancy cases among students.
Dy who is also an ex-officio member of the province’s Sangguniang Panlalawigan and chairman of the committee on youth affairs, said she was informed by higher education institution officials in the province that there are some cases of early pregnancy among students.
“The HEIs has requested the SK office to conduct counseling sessions to students to enlighten and guide them in their education paths without hassle and not to be victims of early pregnancy,” Dy said.
She said the SK leadership took note of the reports and is now planning to launch a counseling sessions to students in higher education institutions of Isabela although the program is supposed to be implemented in secondary schools only.
The SK official believed that through counseling, students will not become victims of early pregnancy and continue their studies well until they can finish their respective curriculum courses.
The SK will be inviting effective and expert counselors to give advice to students.
Aside from counseling, the SK will also be conducting anti-drug campaigns inside the school campuses.
Dy likewise assured that the SK basketball tournaments participated by youths from the different municipalities will still be continued.
