| A 23-YEAR-OLD suspected New People’s Army tax collector-turned-notorious-gun-for-hire and robber was shot and killed by an officer after he reportedly tried to grab the gun of another policeman escorting him in Boston, Davao Oriental, last Monday.

|
| |
| Suspect Richard Pascual died while being taken to a local hospital for treatment of gunshot wound from an M-16 rifle, said Police Regional Office 11 director Chief Supt. Jaime Morente said.
| |
|
| |
| Morente said that an investigation showed that Pascual alias “Kulafu Ader” was being escorted by members of the Boston Municipal Police Station inside a patrol car when he, despite being in handcuffs, tried to grab the firearm of Police Officer 1 Noel de Jesus.
| |
|
| |
| During the scuffle for the gun’s possession, a colleague of De Jesus identified as PO1 Joel Maduyag shot the suspect once in the body.
| |
|
| |
| Morente described Pascual as a former NPA tax collector who joined a notorious robbery-holdup and gun-for-hire gang locally known as ‘Bandido’ until he was arrested.
