CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro, Dec. 28 (PIA) -- About 1,000 Calapeños, including city officials and employees, received free anti-flu vaccine this month from the city health and sanitation department (CHSD). | |||
The vaccination program aimed to help Calapeños become safe from flu which is rampant this month due to the cold weather condition, according to City Health Officer Basilisa M. Llanto. | |||
Llanto said that anti-flu vaccine costs about P1, 500 when bought from drugstores and hospitals. The city government thus wanted Calapeños, especially the marginalized folks, to avail of the free vaccine, she added. | |||
The vaccines were given free by the Department of Health to the city government as a health protection support program to Calapeños. | |||
