CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro, November 23 (PIA) -- The 69 Day Care centers here received a total of 345 sacks of rice and kitchen utensils from the city social welfare office last November 11 as requirement for the city’s feeding program. | |||
City Social Welfare Officer Juvy L. Bahia said that her office also provided 68 pieces of casseroles, 68 frying pans, and 2,199 pieces of plates, spoons, forks, bowls, and tumblers. An additional P10 budget for each Day Care pupil was likewise provided. | |||
This project is a big help to the beneficiaries especially now that prices of commodities are continuously going up, she said. | |||
While the feeding program is not enough to avert poverty and malnutrition in the country, City Mayor Doy Leachon noted that the program could help even in a little way ease the living condition of the parents and their children. | |||
