KORONADAL CITY, Oct 30 (PIA) –- Representatives of member-agencies of the Regional Statistical Coordination Committee (RSCC) 12 planted hard-wood trees in Sto. Niño, Koronadal City last week as part of the celebration of the 22nd National Statistics Month. | |||
The activity was conducted in support to the National Greening Program (NGP) of the government which aims to plant some 1.5 billion trees in around 1.5 million hectares of public lands in six years, from 2011 to 2016. | |||
RSCC 12 and National Economic and Development Authority 12 (NEDA 12) Director Teresita Socorro Ramos led participants in planting seedlings of Nabong tree in Purok Upper Valley of the said barangay. | |||
Koronadal City’s Environment and Natural Resources led by CENRO Augustus Bretaña provided the seedlings and identified the tree-planting area while the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) provided a shuttle to ferry participants to and from the planting site. | |||
Food and drinks for the participants were provided by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). | |||
The RSCC 12 is composed of representatives from the regional offices of NEDA, National Statistics Office, National Statistics Coordinating Board, Department of Budget and Management , Department of the Interior and Local Government, Department of Trade and Industry. | |||
