Estimated damages to infrastructure and agriculture due to Typhoon “Mina” (International name: Nanmadol) has reached P1.108 billion, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said Tuesday.
The town of Calanasan in Apayao remains isolated due to landslides, which blocked roads with rocks and soil.

In its latest situation report, the NDRRMC said that as of 6 a.m., damage to agriculture was estimated at P1.056 billion in the provinces of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Biliran, Abra, '''Apayao''', Benguet, Kalinga and Mt. Province.
The blocked roads hampered the delivery of food supplies to the province because vehicles carrying the supplies remain stranded in Claveria, Cagayan.

Not included yet are the damages in Region 6 (Western Visayas). In Iloilo alone, more or less five hectares of rice lands were damaged in the villages of Ambarihon, Buenavista and Batga in Tubungan town, Iloilo, the NDRRMC said.
Authorities said the town is running short on food supply.

Meanwhile, damages to infrastructure like roads, bridges and school buildings were estimated at P51.032 million in the provinces of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Abra, '''Apayao''', Benguet, Kalinga and Mt. Province.
“Nagkakaubusan na, mga 2 days nalang siguro tatagal,” said Janelyn Garcia, municipal budget officer of Calanasan.

Also, a total of 1,316 houses were damaged in regions 1, 2, 6 and CAR, the NDRRMC said.
The Department of Public Works and Highways is conducting clearing operations to remove the rocks and soil from the highway.
As of 6a.m. Tuesday, eight bridges and 30 roads remain closed to traffic due to various major and minor landslide, damages and flooding incidents in Regions 1, 2, 6, NCR and CAR, the state-run disaster management council said.

Mina, who made landfall in Northern Cagayan over the weekend, left Philippine territory late Monday., and was headed towards the direction of Taiwan the NDRRMC said quoting the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration.
Meanwhile, the Halsema Highway in Tublay, Benguet is now accessible to traffic after being shut down for a few days.

The highway was closed because of landslides. The landslides were caused by strong rains brought by Typhoon "Mina."
