COTABATO CITY – An indigenous peoples (IPs) group in Sultan Kudarat province has become a recipient Monday of a livelihood package worth PHP300,000 from the Department of Social Welfare and Development – Soccsksargen (DSWD-12). Edgar Guerra, the DSWD-12 program coordinator, identified the recipient of the support package as the Panamin IP Bagumbayan Sultan Kudarat Sustainable Livelihood Program Association (BSK-SPLA) The check for the IP association livelihood package was released during ceremonies held at the municipal gymnasium of Bagumbayan.
BACOLOD CITY – Active cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in Negros Occidental have decreased by 93.23 percent within February, based on the series of data released by the Provincial Incident Management Team (PIMT) on Tuesday. Figures showed that on February 28, cases were down to only 233, from a high of 3,445 on February 1. On February 7, active cases still rose to 3,455, but significantly decreased to 2,089 by February 14 and further dropped to 947 by February 21. The latest PIMT report on Monday night showed the province only has seven new cases.

KORONADAL CITY – The city government here is now gearing for the operation of the recycling facilities that were donated by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), a local official said Monday. In a statement, Mayor Eliordo Ogena said the recycling facilities comprising a conveyor system, two plastic bottle crushers, a generator set, and plastic chair molders were installed at the city’s sanitary landfill in Barangay Paraiso. Dr. Carmela Centeno, UNIDO industrial development officer, who flew from Austria where they are based, led the turnover of the recycling facilities to the city officials over the weekend.
LEGAZPI CITY – The city government of Naga has eased restrictions for indoor and outdoor activities effective Tuesday as Alert Level 1 takes effect.
