CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council in Northern Mindanao (RDRRMC-10) said Typhoon Odette killed five people, displaced a total of 53,340 individuals, and left an estimated PHP81 million worth of damage to property in the region. In a report released Sunday evening, December 19, the total number of individuals displaced came from 15,086 families and 242 barangays, with the province of Misamis Oriental having the highest number with 33,435 individuals or 9,185 families from 27 barangays, which included this city. The RDRRMC-10 also recorded damage to houses, both partially and totally, with an estimated value of PHP1,132,000, while damage to infrastructure in San Isidro and Batangan Dike in Valencia City, Bukidnon was estimated at PHP80.1 million.
DAVAO CITY – The Davao City Task Force on the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) on Tuesday reminded Dabawenyos to remain vigilant and continue working together against the deadly disease even as the city reported no new Covid-19 cases over the weekend. DAVAO CITY – No new cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) have been recorded in three provinces and one city in the Davao Region, its regional Department of Health (DOH-11) said Sunday evening. Davao City, and the provinces of Davao Oriental, Davao del Sur, and Davao de Oro were among those that logged zero Covid-19 cases in the latest case bulletin released by the DOH-11 on December 19. The DOH-11 reported that five new cases of Covid-19 were recorded, one in Davao del Norte and four in Davao Occidental, bringing the total number of active cases to 665. There were also 21 new recoveries reported -- 19 are from Davao de Oro, and two from Davao Oriental.

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) stressed this anew after continuous reports that some private companies and government agencies refuse to recognize the PhilID. “Your Philsys national identification card is valid and can be used for any legal transactions. This is a memo from the Philippine Identification System of the Philippine Statistics Authority that mandates that your PhilSys national ID should be accepted for customer identification and verification in any bank transactions in the Philippines. No institutions or establishments should refuse your PhilSys national ID card or they will be penalized,” the PSA posted on December 13.
