'''Sinulog off-limits to outsiders amid Omicron threat'''.<br>
'''Broodstock, hatchery facilities to boost PH aquaculture industry'''.<br>
CEBU CITY – The city government here is planning to hold the traditional Sinulog celebration in January next year without the participation of contingents from other provinces and welcome only vaccinated visitors amid the threat of the Omicron variant of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19). Mayor Michael Rama said in a radio interview on Tuesday that he is contemplating introducing “Sinulog in the household” where the traditional and religious celebration in honor of the Sto. Niño would be done right at the residences in this city. He assured the public that the city will not hold Sinulog activities that could turn into a “superspreader event.” “We will do it hopefully on the assumption that we cannot take more than what we can chew. We have to look at it from the point of view of the movement of people during the celebration,” the mayor said.
ILOILO CITY – The new PHP23-million broodstock and hatchery facilities at the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC/AQD) in Tigbauan, Iloilo are expected to boost the supply of aquaculture in Western Visayas and the country as a whole. The facilities composed of a multi-species marine hatchery, multi-species freshwater hatchery and milkfish broodstock tanks were inaugurated by Agriculture Secretary William D. Dar on Thursday. In his message, SEAFDEC/AQD chief Dan D. Baliao said the structures would serve as model facilities for the multi-species hatcheries that will be built in the future under the "Fry Sufficiency Program” which they will undertake together with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).

'''DTI Antique holds weekly monitoring of Noche Buena products'''<br>
'''Albay lifts border restrictions as Covid-19 cases drop'''<br>
SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Antique provincial office is holding weekly monitoring of Noche Buena products to make sure there will be enough supply this Christmas season. DTI Antique Trade and Industry Development Specialist Glen Fernando said in an interview Tuesday that more intensified monitoring of those products will be done this month as compared to their once a month regular survey of basic commodities “We are now conducting monitoring of the major retail stores in Antique this December,” he said. The monitoring of five major stores in San Jose de Buenavista starting Dec. 3 showed enough supplies of goods as there are consumers who started to shop early, he said.
LEGAZPI CITY – The provincial government of Albay has now lifted the checkpoints for strict border control regulations manned by the Philippine National Police (PNP). This was contained in Executive Order (EO) No. 35 issued by Albay Governor Al Francis Bichara on Thursday. "Reasonable restrictions may be imposed by the local government units (LGUs) of destinations, which should not be stricter as those prescribed under higher alert levels and subject to the oversight, monitoring, and evaluation of their respective Inter-Agency Task Force," the EO stated. Albay is now under the lower Alert Level 2 community quarantine status in the fight against coronavirus disease (Covid-19). Based on Department of Health data, Albay has 654 active cases of Covid-19 as of December 5. On vaccination coverage as of December 3, a total of 614,794 individuals or 62 percent of Albayanos are now inoculated with at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccines out of the total target population of 987,297.
