LAOAG CITY – As the province of Ilocos Norte started to relax its travel protocols to its returning residents, the Ilocos Norte Tourism Office announced Thursday that fully vaccinated tourists who are visiting the province may no longer be required to present a negative coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) test result upon arrival at the provincial border. "Starting December 1, there will be no testing for fully vaccinated tourists who are coming from Alerts levels 1, 2, and 3 areas,” the Ilocos Norte Tourism office said in a public advisory posted on its official Facebook page. However, unvaccinated and partially vaccinated tourists who are coming from Alert level 4 will still be required to show a negative RT-PCR (Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction) test taken within 72 hours or antigen test taken within 24 hours upon arrival, it added.
DAVAO CITY – The camp of Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy, founder of the Philippine-based Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC), on Friday said their leader and the entire Kingdom nation would not be brought down over a malicious issue on sex trafficking. The statement came after a federal grand jury in the United States (US) indicted Quiboloy, over an alleged scheme that coerced girls and young women to have sex with him under threats of “eternal damnation”. The US Department of Justice (DOJ) said the new indictment, released on November 18, charged Quiboloy and two other top church officials - Teresita Dandan and Felina Salinas - with participating in a conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking by force, fraud, and coercion, as well as the sex trafficking of children.

ZAMBOANGA CITY – The city government has continued distributing the Local Social Amelioration Program (LSAP) to sectors affected by the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic here. Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar said Thursday the latest recipients of LSAP are the senior citizens who are not beneficiaries of other forms of assistance or social pensions and pedicab drivers. “The cash assistance from the city government is intended help alleviate the plight of the recipients amidst the health pandemic,” Salazar said The release of the financial assistance started Wednesday, she said.
