Philhealth: Pampanga best in Central Luzon

CLARK FREEPORT – Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) Region-3 Vice President Walter Bacareza announced the other day that Pampanga is the best performing province in the whole of Central Luzon in terms of distribution and implementation of health insurance benefits in a meeting held at Royce Hotel here.

“Pampanga is one of the best performing provinces I’ve seen in the whole country, the best in the region,” Bacareza said.

Bacareza said that he was amazed with the performance of the provincial government in utilizing all the benefits and delivering them to the poorest of the poor.

He also lauded the well-maintained district and provincial hospitals which maximized the benefits of the said health care.

Bacareza also asked the Pampanga PhilHealth to guide the other provinces who are underperforming.

“Please help us improve their performance by showing them how you got that ‘almost 100%’ statistics,” he said.

Pampanga registered P42,333,600 worth of Point of Care enrollment in 11 district and provincial hospitals which gained P151,740,144 utilized benefi ts recorded last year or 365% utilization.

Provincial Health Office Officer-in-Charge Dr. Jay Rivera said Governor Lilia Pineda is not 100 percent satisfi ed with the performance of the hospitals with regards to Philhealth program as she wants more and better results as the Cuban- like health management system in the province will kick-off in February, this year.
