ILOILO CITY, June 17 (PNA) –- A group of businessmen of the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce will visit Iloilo this July as part of the preparations for the proposed trade mission to New York in October this year.

This was revealed by Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog after he met with the business group during his trip to New York last week for the annual Philippine Independence Day celebration by the Filipino community.

“Hopefully this time we meet biggest businessmen for us to invite them to come and invest in Iloilo,” he said.

He recalled that the business summit hosted by this city in Makati years back was able to generate some PHP150 billion in commitments.

“Iloilo is going to benefit from this,” he said.

During his visit last week, the chamber conferred Mabilog with a Service Award for Business “for distinguished service promoting businesses for the City of Iloilo in particular and province of Iloilo in general.”
