Team Grace-Chiz visits Pagadian, Ozamiz

Presidential front-runner Senator Grace Poe and her vice presidential bet Senator Chiz Escudero have visited the cities of Pagadian and Ozamiz in Mindanao.

Poe and Escudero accompanied by Bayan Muna Representative Neri Colmenares and Atty. Lorna Kapunan arrived at Pagadian City airport Wednesday morning, where they were met by Zamboanga del Sur political kingpin Gov. Tony Cerilles and Cong. Victor Yu.

A breakfast was tendered by the Zamboanga del Sur political leaders for the visiting Poe and Escudero and their two Team Grace-Chiz senatorial ticket candidates.

Then, Poe did radio guesting, press conference and spoke before thousands of Zamboanga del Sur residents, mostly sectoral group members and local government unit officials.

Poe tackled some problems facing the country which are the main causes of poverty and conflict in Mindanao.

"Kahit patuloy na may bumabatikos sa aking pagka Pilipino ay buo parin ang loob ko na tumakbo bilang pagka pangulo," she said in tagalog. "Kasama sa plano ko ang pagbibigay ng atensyon sa Mindanao para mas mapalago pa ang ekonomiya sa bayan."

For his part, Escudero criticized the lack of funds in some government agencies even as he asked the current national leadership for additional funds for all LGUs particularly in Mindanao.

Backing up Poe and Escudero statements, Colmenares told reporters that government should give priority for the development of various industry to address the cause of poverty in the country.

Meanwhile, Kapunan stressed that there must be a heart and good governance in the country who could lead and guide the nation towards prosperity and betterment of all the people, especially the poor . After the activities in Pagadian City, Poe also visited Ozamiz City where upon her arrival there, she immediately proceeded to the Birhen sa Cotta Shrine to light candle.

Poe also met her thousands of supporters and did radio and television guestings in Ozamiz City.
