Bayanihan

The term bayanihan is a filipino word. In small villages in the Philippines, when a homeowner decides to relocate, if he wants to, he can move his house to his new location and not just his belongings. He invites his neighbors to help him in the process.

A frame is built for the house so it can withstand the move. The material of the frame is usually made out of bamboo. Since bamboo is light and very sturdy and does not easily break plus it is readily available.

When there is a bayanihan, the village people get together to help one another.
