ANGELES CITY -- The United Architects of the Philippines (UAP)-Angeles City (Mother Chapter) celebrated its 32nd founding anniversary with a theme “Pupul” which was highlighted during the club’s induction of new officers and members at the Lewis Grand Hotel here last August 31.

Architect Adriano Gulapa, new president of the UAP Angeles City, said the word pupul attached to the club’s all-white theme describes itself as Harvesting Good Products.

The mother chapter, UAP Angeles City, gave birth to twin babies namely the UAP Alaya Chapter and the UAP Clark Chapter, according to Gulapa.

“We are happy and excited to see them develop, grow and continue the legacy and foundation built by their mother chapter, inspire more aspiring architects in the future and bring out the best in them,” he said.

Gulapa added that PUPUL also stands for productivity, unity, professionalism, universal and lasting relationship among officers and chapter members.

“With this theme, we strive to uphold our chapter’s mission and vision to assist all Filipino architects, produce quality architectural designs, foster a good relationship with our colleagues and the community in general” Gulapa said.

He also urged his fellow officers and the club members to support the program of the UAP National by attending the Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

“This is to enrich our learning experience and complement our craft and skills as professional architects. Knowledge may change, what may be true today may not be true tomorrow. Our industry is an ever-changing landscape. Attending CPD programs can pave the way for new strategies and help us cope up with the world we have today,” Gulapa said.

During the event, the club officers and members attended a mass at the Holy Rosary Church, a motorcade, traditional breakfast, a feeding program at the Children’s Home, school table donation, and other activities.

Other UAP Angeles City executive officers include Architects Peter John Resurreccion, vice president for programs and development; Rommel Reyes, vice president for operations; Arielle Austria, secretary; Angelo Ricafrente, treasurer; and Jordan David, auditor.

The club executive directors are Architects Edan Dela Cruz, internal affairs; Joseph Tan, professional practice; Oscar Vitug, government and external affairs; Famela Pangilinan, education; Melencio Manalo, professional development; Roberto Alvarez, Sentrong Arkitekturang Pilipino; Kyehl Nicdao, ways and means; Danilo Deocales, sports and wellness; and Niegele Lansangan, conventions and conferences. UAP National executive vice president Benjamin Panganiban led the swearing in of the new club officers and members.
