CABARROGUIS, Quirino, Jan. 17 (PIA) –- The on-going construction of the Quirino Provincial Hospital (QPH) in barangay Mangandingay is targeted to be completed and inaugurated in June of this year. Architect Carlos Salvador of the provincial engineering office said the construction is already on its 6th phase and an addition of manpower was done to fast track the completion of the project. Salvador presented that the overall project cost is P300 million, where P183.3 million was sourced from the Department of Health’s facilities enhancement project, P30 million from Congressman Dakila Carlo Cua’s fund and the rest came from the province’s fund. “It is already 70 percent completed and we will try our best to finish the project before June to formally open it to the public,” Salvador said. He further stated the old hospital of the province can no longer accommodate sick constituents that is why some still seek health services in the nearby provinces, such as Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya and even in Manila. The new provincial hospital is a 250 bed capacity with state-of-the-art facilities.. He further said the hospital will not only help sick individuals but also some of the unemployed.
