*Alad Island - To enjoy this isolated island, take a boat ride via MV Mary the Queen, has 12 hour routes from Manila to Romblon Island, that leaves every Saturday at 5pm. Other alternative routes are via Montenegro Shipping lines, Viva Shipping lines and Shipshape Ferry from the port of Batangas City, two hours and a half by land from Manila. From Batangas, ferries sail the 8 hour trip to Odiongan port and to the port of San Agustin in Romblon Island. Make sure to get off at the port of San Agustin. From there, you can ask for boats to take you to Alad Island, some 2 or 3 hours away from the port of San Agustin. There are no resorts, not even a structure on Alad Island so better to bring your own tent and food and arrange for the boat to return for you at an agreed time. (by: Gerry Cacanindin)
