OROQUIETA CITY, Misamis Occidental, Mar. 25 (PIA) – A total of P 498.09 million worth of projects have been implemented in Misamis Occidental under the Mindanao Rural Development Program (MRDP) Rural Infrastructure Sub-Projects, Phase 2 and the Community Fund for Agricultural Development (CFAD) last year. | |||
Of this amount, P 488.76 million was spent on some 62 road projects with a total length of 292.13 km. under the MRDP 2 while P 9.25 million was spent under the CFAD. | |||
Both programs were intended to further improve the income and achieve food security through the development of rural infrastructure, agri-fishery, livelihood and bio-diversity conservation activities of the residents in the rural areas. | |||
Meanwhile, during the recent meeting of the Mis. Occ. Provincial Development Council (PDC) in the city, Teresa B. Calamba, Chairperson of the Road Sector Committee and Secretary to the PDC reported the following status and accomplishments of the rural infrastructure sub-projects: | |||
One (1) of the projects with a length of 2.68 km. amounting to P 2.384 million have been fully liquidated while two (2) others with a length of 3.44 km. amounting to P 6.7 million have been accepted by MRDP and turned-over but not yet fully paid. | |||
Four (4) of the projects with a length of 35.94 km. amounting to P 25.58 million, is still on-going and has an accomplishment of above 50 percent while the implementation of five (5) others with a length of 25.28 km. amounting to P 55.90 million which is also on-going, has an accomplishment of below 50 percent, Calamba said. | |||
Contracts for eight (8) projects involving 24.22 km. amounting to P 66.14 million have been awarded but not yet started while six (6) projects involving 11.10 km. amounting to P 32.54 million have been bidded out but not yet awarded. | |||
The bid documents and feasibility studies for 12 other road project with a length of 58.30 km. amounting to P 86.10 million have been readied for bidding while 24 others with a length of 131.16 km. amounting to P 213.39 million, are currently under review for additional funding. | |||
Likewise, of the P 9.25 million worth of projects implemented under the CFAD for the province, last year, P 7 million was released for the poultry and livestock production of the municipalities of Aloran and Sinacaban at P 2.25 million, each, and Calamba and Panaon at P 1.25 million, each. | |||
The other P 2.25 million is also to be downloaded to the different barangays of Sinacaban, the PDC Secretary added. | |||
