Peňafrancia novena masses begin on Sept. 14

NOVENA masses for the Our Lady of Peňafrancia, patroness of Bicolandia, will begin on Sept. 14 at 5:30 p.m. at the Archdiocesan Shrine of St. Therese of the Child Jesus in Barangay Lahug, Cebu City.

The novena masses will run for nine days until Sept. 22, to be followed the next day, Sept. 23, a Sunday, with the fiesta mass to be celebrated by Bicolano priests.

Schedule of masses:

• First novena mass - Friday, Sept. 14, 5:30 p.m.

• Second novena mass - Saturday, Sept. 15, 5:30 p.m.

• Third novena mass - Sunday, Sept. 16, 5:30 p.m.

• Fourth novena mass - Monday, Sept. 17, 5:30 p.m.

• Fifth novena mass - Tuesday, Sept. 18, 5:30 p.m.

• Sixth novena mass - Wednesday, Sept. 19, 5:30 p.m.

• Seventh novena mass - Thursday, Sept. 20, 5:30 p.m.

• Eighth novena mass - Friday, Sept. 21, 5:30 p.m.

• Ninth novena mass - Saturday, Sept. 22, 5:30 p.m.

The ninth novena mass will be preceded by a foot procession at 4:30 p.m. before the 5:30 p.m. mass.

Fiesta day will be on Sept. 23, to be marked by a concelebrated mass by Bicolano priests at 5:30 p.m.

The Bicol Association of Cebu Inc. is organizing the fiesta activities. All devotees of the Ina or the Our Lady of Peňafrancia are invited to attend the fiesta masses.
