MARKET vendors have now the option to pay their monthly stall rentals in the most convenient way possible – through electronic payments.

The first of its kind, the City Government partners with Globe to allow vendors make their GCash account to settle its rentals.

A caravan, dubbed as 'e-Bayad Tour' was launched at Cogon Market Tuesday to increase public knowledge of the electronic channels in paying local government and private sector fees to perform bank transactions.

Mayor Oscar Moreno said the e-payment aims at coinciding with the peak settlement and payment periods in the City Government.

"Nagpasalamat kita kay niabot kini sa Cagayan de Oro alang sa hapsay na nga pagbayad sa atong mga vendors gamit lang ang atong mobile phones," he said.

James Aujero head for Business Development of Globe's subsidiary Telecom 'Mynt' said it is also an affordable way of paying your bills.

Aujero said the Globe Telecom is thankful for the city's support in its search and effort for technological advancement.

"This would surely make the vendors' lives more convenient, given they're always busy," he added.

The program is made possible through the United States AID E-Public Employment Service Office, GCash/Mynt, and First Community Cooperative.

E-Peso has since been working with the City Government to support its effort in improving and expanding the availability of e-payments.

Real property tax, business permits, market stall rental can also be processed with the city's new mobile facility payments which provide convenient, fast, and secure operations of government fees.

The e-Bayad Tour will be at Yacapin street at Cogon market and inside Carmen market which will be free and open to the public.
